Alyssa is the founder of True Colors Music. She is a board certified Music Therapist passionate about guiding others on their journeys to wellness and self-expression through music. She graduated magna cumme laude and president of the Music Therapy Student Organization from Montclair State University. Alyssa completed her Music Therapy internship with Hudson Valley Hospice.
Alyssa has experience working with a broad range of populations, including geriatrics, early childhood, intellectual/developmental disabilities and mental health, amongst others.
Alyssa became a Music Therapist because she herself has been helped in so many ways through the power of music. She began piano lessons at age 7, performing in musical theatre at age 10, teaching herself piano, guitar and ukulele at 12 and writing original music that same year. Music has guided and supported her through everything since then. Alyssa brings this deep understanding of the impact of music along with excellent clinical training and experience into her practice.
